Mission Statement

KTBP's mission is to "Get the Message Out," by serving as a vital communications tool for the Native American and non-Native American communities within the station's service area. KTBP College Radio will be inclusive, serving all communities to create cohesion among people of different backgrounds.  KTBP College Radio will provide programming that fulfills the cultural, educational and entertainment needs of the community.

The call sign letters KTBP signifies “The Buffalo People,” and Fort Peck Community Colleges’ slogan, “The Buffalo Chasers.” KTBP College Radio is located in the Old Main building in Poplar, MT on the Fort Peck Community College campus.

KTBP 89.1 FM is a Non-Commercial Educational public radio station serving the Fort Peck Indian Reservation and surrounding communities. KTBP College Radio will serve the educational, informational and cultural needs of Indians and non-Indians, both on the reservation and in the nearby communities. It will serve four purposes: (1) To bring National Public Radio to this large unserved area; (2) To provide cultural and language revitalization programming in our Native languages and English; (3) Promote the educational and community services mission of Fort Peck Community College; and (4) Promote public services mission of the Fort Peck Tribes’ departments; and (5) To deliver reservation vibrations and eclectic music along with locally produced programming and Native news.
